We're all familiar these days with what we need to do to support our physical health: eat well, move more, be a healthy weight, drink less alcohol and more water, stop smoking etc but what contributes to our emotional health and wellbeing?
Wellbeing for me means the sense of calm that comes from having your needs met and feeling fulfilled. It's also about knowing what you want in life and feeling that you have the emotional strength and skills to achieve it.
What does it mean to you and how well are you achieving it right now? It's hard work at the best of times but the past year or so have been incredibly challenging for most of us.
Maybe you're feeling anxious, worried about the future or finding life a real challenge at the moment? Could you do with some support to help you deal with your emotions, refocus on what's important to you or learn new, more positive coping strategies?
I know from my own personal life and from many years of coaching others how a little help at the right time can be life changing. Do you need that support right now?
Having a coach is like having someone by your side, boosting your confidence and helping you get through difficult times.
As Charlie Mackesy says:
"Asking for help isn't giving up, it's refusing to give up"
The good news is we can improve our sense of wellbeing but it can be hard to do it on your own.
Would you like to be happier and to feel more in control of your life and your emotions? Do you want to replace the old habits that are holding you back for more positive ones that will help you move forward? Do you want to stop negative self talk affecting your self confidence and replace it with a renewed motivation?
If this sounds like you then 'coaching for wellbeing' could be just what you need to help you move forward.
Being the parent of young children can be a wonderful experience but sadly they don't come with a manual!
Are you feeling stressed, struggling to know what to do for the best and feeling confused by all the different 'advice' you are given?
Have you tried lots of ways to do things but nothing gets you the results you want?
Are you concerned that your child isn't developing as fast or in the same way as other children of a similar age?
If this sounds like you then 'coaching for parents' could be just what you need at this challenging time.
I'm Liz Somerville and I started my career as a speech and language therapist and early years teacher, working in special and mainstream schools. I loved working with young children but also developed a passion for helping educators and parents to really enjoy the process of teaching and learning.
For many years I worked for a Local Authority as an Early Years Consultant; training, coaching and providing advice and support. I soon became aware that many teachers were suffering from stress and a lack of self confidence, particularly following school inspections. Some even told me they wanted to leave the profession as they had convinced themselves that they were rubbish and couldn’t do the job any more. I began to develop my wellbeing coaching skills so that I could support these professionals to regain a sense of self worth. I was able to help them rebuild their self confidence and to reframe the negative self talk that was stopping them enjoying the jobs they loved.
Since then I have been coaching people who are experiencing stress at work or in their home lives and are in need of help to get back on track
Over the years I've achieved qualifications that have helped me to better understand people, how they learn and ways to support them that really work.
These include:

I enjoy textile art, crafting, gardening and travelling.
I also love to walk in the South Shropshire Hills where I'm lucky enough to live.
I really enjoy spending time with my friends young children and introducing them to new experiences. Children are so open-minded, I've learned a great deal from them. I'm also happy to give their parents support and advice too - but only when I'm asked!
